Recording Preperation
How prepare to assure the best and more effective recording experience
- Be familiar with the script Read through the script aloud at least twice prior to the recording session to become familiar with it, and to get used to the words.
- Be ready and relaxed Allow at least a 15 minute time window prior to the recording session to relax and focus, and check appearance. Rushing into the recording session after a back-to back meeting is inadvisable.
- Prepare your background scene Make sure the background in your video is clean, organized, and cleared of any undesired or unprofessional items or decor.
- Have equipment ready Open any provided equipment (lights, webcam, microphone), make sure it is set up and ready prior to the start of the recording session. This gives more time for an easier recording process. Do not wait to do this just before or during the session.
- Prepare your attire Double-check you have all necessary attire available in advance of the recording session (i.e. a suit jacket).
- No logos or branding Avoid wearing any clothing with visible branding or logos.
- Water is good, dairy bad Be sure to hydrate, avoid drinking or eating dairy in advance of the recording, and have a glass of room temperature water present (you may need a drink during the recording session).
- Support The producer’s there to help you have a successful, comfortable session. Let them know anything you need.
